The Newcastle illustration features the possibly oldest swimming pool on the east coast of Australia – The Bogey hole – said to derive from the Dharawal name for “to bathe”. Hidden away under an old shopping arcade the original baths can be found. The illustration is also featuring Nobbys beach and Nobbys Lighthouse, Shipwreck Walk in Stockton, Newcastle Museum, Newcastle Art Gallery, Christ Church Cathedral, The Obelisk, King Edward Park, Darby Street, Fort Scratchley, Convict Lumber Yard and the Art Deco Ocean Baths.
And if you look closely you might find the kangaroo hiding away in the ground said to thump it’s tail so the land is trembling. The print is available in our online store here.
What started as a carefully illustrated observation of the seaside location in Sydney has quickly become a classic design. An illustrated snapshot of the seaside suburb of Manly, Northern Beaches Australia. During the 19th and early 20th century Manly was one of Australia’s most popular seaside holiday resorts. This illustration was also the first one in the Super Places Collection and it is very special as this is where Supertrooper Studio started.
The illustration includes interpretations of The Corso, ferry, penguins, surfer, coffee shops, sea food and Manly Wharf.
The illustration are available printed as wall prints, cushion covers and tea towels in our online store or at our stocksist.

The Sydney illustration has a timeless classic feel. It is inspired by the harbor glamor and time spent catching the Sydney Ferries enjoying the beautiful glittering water with the contrasting skyline.
The illustration features classic city landmarks from the Sydney Opera House to New Year fireworks, city skyline, The Rocks heritage area, Museum of Contemporary Art, Hyde Park and the obligatory fruit bats and sharks of the harbour.
The Sydney illustration was one of the first I made and it is also one of the most complicated to screen print technically as the field of opaque harbour blue is quite large.
